Math Conference in Washington DC

This is my roommate from my masters' degree program, Edith James. We connected after 43 years! We had a lot to discuss, to say the least.

I took a day to tour the city, which had certainly changed since 1986, when I brought eighth graders here from Santa Rosa's 3R school. Here is the residence of President Obama and his family.

This is the assembly hall for the national conference. I think most of the big names in mathematics education were here. My own professor, Dr. Thomasenia Adams, had a featured role at NCSM and the presession.
There were 12,000 attendees.

Washington in the springtime is a beautiful place. It was nice to clear my mind, after all the recent reading and writing, hearing others talk helped me arrange my thoughts for the final sprint to finish the written exam.

The reflecting pond--to reflect on my career in mathematics, actually punctuated at beginning and end by a Washington trip. (a comma, not an end)

Bourne and other photos from the recent trip to Texas. The green grass is from two years ago. The brown photo is from our winter visit last week. This, folks, is a drought.

February happenings

Charmi and JJ showed us the watery side of Palm Coast this month.

This hat is one of Charmi's latest designs.

John, always the elusive one. At least I got half of his face.

The occasion was Peggy's 75th birthday.

Charmi tried to show me how to alter photographs. Here's my attempt to improve the photo of Scott learning about Facebook.
